Position: Organist/Accompniast

Gethsemane Lutheran Church (ELCA), an energetic, socially active church in the western suburbs of Minneapolis with a long tradition of excellence in music-making, seeks a year-round organist who can bring spirited and creative playing to our traditional worship services. The organist works in close partnership with the Director of Music. The organist’s primary responsibilities are to play organ and piano preludes, postludes, service music and hymns for Sunday morning worship services and occasional evening and holiday services, and to accompany Wednesday evening choir rehearsals. Gethsemane’s 32-rank Reuter organ installed in 1964, with revisions in 2017 and 2021. The sanctuary grand piano is a 6-foot Weber with fine tone and excellent touch.
