Adult Ministry

We offer a variety of ways for adults to connect their faith to their everday lives. From Sunday morning forums and discussions to digital bible studies to special speakers and presentations to community conversations, there is something for everyone. Join us for one or all of these opportunities, and if there is something you would like see, please contact Pastor Amy Courts Koopman at ackoopman@glconline.org or (952) 935-1119.

Pulling At The Threads

SUNDAY ADULT FORUMS

"Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world's grief. Do justly now, love mercy now, walk humbly now. You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it." - Pierke Avot, the Talmud

Join us for our Adult Forums on Sunday mornings in April as we continue pulling at the threads of injustice. We will draw from our previous conversations around prison labor, racial justice, climate action, and more that arose through our reading of Dr. King's Letter from a Birmingham Jail, and continue planting and tending Peace-making seeds in the Garden that is God's Kin-dom.

We understand that in the midst of so many injustices, wars. and crises, it can feel overwhelming and impossible to do anything meaningful. But, as Ursula Wolfe-Rocco reminds us, "the good news is that they're all connected. So if your little corner of work involves pulling at one of the threads, you're helping to unravel the whole cloth."

Inside the Text

ONLINE WEEKLY

Each week we will share a short Bible study video on the gospel reading for the upcoming Sunday. Read along and learn some of the unique points of the scripture with historical context, literary criticism, and theological interpretations of the text. Learn why the preacher lifts up certain points of the text and how they fit themes we are focusing on at church. These lessons will enhance your ability to hear the Sunday sermon in a whole new way.
