April Luncheons
April is credited with bringing showers, but it also brings a blizzard of luncheons. This April, for example, we note the Inspirational Luncheon of Lutheran Social Services, the annual spring luncheon of Luther Seminary Friends as well as Gethsemane’s own Golden Age Luncheon.
Luther Seminary Friends Luncheon April 12
The Friends Brunch at Luther Seminary is April 12 at 11:30 a.m. Them for the event is “Celebrating Minnesota at 150 Years.” Cost is $25.00 Call Alice Janke at 952-938-2462 for further details.
LSS Luncheon April 14
The LSS Inspirational Luncheon, “Celebrating our Centennial”, is Monday, April 14, at Mt. Olivet Church. Cost is $20.00. Janet Martin, who wrote the whimsical “Church Basement Ladies,” will be the amusing speaker. The special day will feature music and Trivia table games.
Those interested in car pooling should call our Auxiliary Representative Val Anderson at 763-545-2477 or Helen Nagell at 952-544-5343. Crafty people are also encouraged to submit work for the handcraft boutique. Check with Val or Helen about that.
Gethsemane Golden Age Luncheon April 17
All Gethsemane members 75 years or older, together with their youthful spouses, will be honored by GCW at the annual Golden Age Luncheon on Thursday, April 17, at 11:30 a.m.
Jim Berner’s Senior Music Show will feature songs and stories behind the music of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. Accompanied by a keyboard with the full band sound, guests will hear the sounds of Perry Como, Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, and Frankie Laine, all in one person.
Berner is one popular entertainer. His show was presented in about 150 senior centers in 2006 and 250 in 2007.
