Volunteer Opportunities Tutorial

You can view and sign up for volunteer opportunities using Access Gethsemane. Once signed up, Access Gethsemane will generate an email to you and the listed contact person on the opportunity. Here is how you sign up:

1. Log into Access Gethsemane using your username and password. See the login tutorial on the GLC website for help with this step.
2. From the My Overview (front) page, select the Available Serving Opportunities link in the “I Want to View…” box.
3. On the Current Opportunities page, you will see all of the available volunteer opportunities. Select the volunteer opportunity in which you are interested by clicking on the Interested button.

Click on the Position link for more information on a volunteer opportunity. Once on the Position Details page, you will see a brief description, the time, the date, and the location of the opportunity. You can click on the I’m Interested button to sign up – you do not need to go back to the previous page. Also on the Position Details page are 5 stars. These stars relate directly to your Serving Attributes Survey you completed on your Profile screen. The more gold stars, the more this volunteer opportunity matches up with your skills.

If you have not completed your Serving Attributes Survey, click on the Edit my attributes and availability link from the Current Opportunities page. Or, you can click on the My Complete Profile link from your Home page and then click on the Serving tab
